Migration from 2 Different Magento 1 Stores to Single Magento 2 Store

Challenges

The business had 2 different websites on different Magento 1 stores and both sites were processing orders separately.
Both stores were running on older versions of Magento 1 which required security patch installs. To keep the store secure and assure the safety of business data, it was required to upgrade websites to the latest Magento version.
Sales data and customer information of both Magento 1 stores were required for the business to keep existing customers active and the sales process to continue from a single site instead of 2 stores for smooth execution of business.
Also, the design layout of Contractor License’s old websites was outdated and that was a problem in providing their customers with the best user experience while using their web shop.
The checkout page was not user-friendly on the old web stores which was resulting in a lower customer conversion rate.
The company had to make the decision to update the website to eliminate security vulnerabilities and merge all sales, catalog, and customer data from both Magento 1 stores to the new secure Magento 2 stores and make customization in the checkout process to enhance customers’ shopping experience.

Our Solution

Our Magento 2 development team suggested upgrading the current Magento 1 store to Magento 2 in order to utilize the advanced features on the new platform like best security, increased performance, and great user experience.

A custom solution was developed to meet the requirement of business to merge data of 2 Magento 1 stores into a single Magento 2 store.
