Digital Storefront Evolution: Dortech Direct’s Custom Magento 2 Experience
- Dortech Direct’s Magento 2 ecommerce website was having difficulties with payment solutions and homepage layout.
- Businesses had product reviews stored and taken in 3rd party review system which they were not able to show on products which could help increase their conversation rate and help build trust with customers.
- Customers were not able to pay using credit/debit cards due to default checkout and purchased one-step checkout extensions both were not compatible with 3rd party payment solutions.
- The company was forced to process payments manually over the telephone for customers who wanted to pay using credit/debit cards.
- The company was looking for a custom checkout solution where customers can select specific nominated delivery dates and methods for their orders to arrive.
- The website had a new theme but with an old design and an outdated layout for the homepage.
- Customer experience was being affected and they were losing sales even though having big traffic.
- The company had to make a decision to improve the store checkout process for a better customer shopping experience.

Our Solution
How We Delivered
- Our Magento 2 development team developed and integrated a new layout for the homepage according to current trends with mobile-friendly creativity for a better user experience.
- By developing a custom solution for product reviews we imported reviews in Magento in specific products based on their relations with 3rd parties and customers were able to view the reviews to make sure they were purchasing the right product.
- With the setup of our in-house developed Icecube Digital’s extension Mageice One Step Checkout we improved customer shopping experience which is also compatible with their 3rd party payment solution.
- As per their business requirement, our eCommerce development experts modified our One Step Checkout extension so that the customers can select nominated delivery dates and methods in a calendar user interface and the company can deliver customer orders on their required dates.
- For ease of their customers, we have implemented custom functionality to show product prices with VAT or without VAT so at the time of visiting the website customers can select including/excluding VAT option to see the products price accordingly.
